In 2007, Callawassie Island earned the esteemed recognition as the first community Wildlife Habitat in South Carolina, accredited by the National Wildlife Federation. Moreover, our commitment to environmental stewardship extends to our golf course, which achieved the prestigious status of a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary in 2017.

(FOCI), a registered nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to uplifting the disadvantaged and underserved residents of Beaufort and Jasper counties. Our mission is to provide vital financial support to worthy organizations serving our local community.

Since its establishment in 2001, FOCI has been a beacon of hope, channeling resources through events, corporate sponsorships, and individual contributions. To date, we've proudly awarded over $750,000 in grants to local nonprofits, making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. Through a variety of fundraising efforts such as golf tournaments, yard sales, and locally produced theatre events, Callawassie Islanders generously give both their time and financial support to enhance their communities and uplift the lives of others."

Garden Club; An 800 Acre Botanical Garden: "The Garden Club passionately advocates for best gardening practices in the Lowcountry while fostering a delightful sense of camaraderie. Beyond education, our members are committed to philanthropy, giving back to nature and our communities. From enhancing the island with vibrant flowerbeds and shrubs to nurturing our enchanting Butterfly Garden, the Garden Club is dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of Callawassie Island."

Embracing a relaxed approach, the club emphasizes fishing, fellowship, and fun without the burden of dues or strict schedules. Sporting Clays Club; The Next 18: "Embrace the exhilarating challenge of sporting clays at the Callawassie Island Sporting Clays Club, where enthusiasts liken the experience to 'golf with a shotgun.' Each environment presents a unique test of skill and adaptability, fostering spirited yet friendly competition among participants. For those eager to join the Sporting Clays Club, clinics are available during peak residency periods on Callawassie Island. To build a strong foundation in the sport, the club advises aspiring shooters to connect with certified instructors."


Women's Club; The Social Circle: "Standing as the oldest club on Callawassie Island, the Women's Club holds a cherished legacy. Originally known as 'The Marsh Hens,' its primary aim was to welcome new female residents and facilitate connections within the community. Over its three-decade journey, the club has evolved while upholding its commitment to volunteerism and camaraderie. From September to May, members gather monthly for engaging social events, educational programs, entertainment, and delightful cuisine. Flexibility reigns supreme within the group, allowing each member to tailor their level of involvement to suit their preferences."


Kid's Camp; Making S'more: "Callawassie Island’s Kids Camp offers more than just fun—it's a gateway to lifelong friendships and environmental education. Our camp introduces children to

the wonders of local ecology and instills a love for nature. Kids engage in a variety of enriching activities including arts and crafts, golf, tennis, and kayaking along our scenic waterways. To cap off the week, we host a thrilling carnival celebration for participants and their families, creating unforgettable memories of island adventures."
